Back and neck pain encompasses a wide-range of problems from traumatic injuries like whiplash to more long-standing problems like Sciatica or occupational-related problems.
In acute stages, we like to provide a hands-on approach. We will utilise soft-tissue massage, acupuncture, dry needling and simple exercises to reduce pain and increase function. We will also offer advice on how to best manage your specific set of symptoms throughout the day and night when you may be struggling the most. When we have settled the acute symptoms we can begin rehabilitation in order to further improve pain and function while working on any underlying issues that have caused the initial problem. This may include a stretching and strengthening programme, postural exercises, and ergonomic advice.
We pride ourselves on empowering our client’s with the skills and knowledge to best manage their ongoing symptoms and how to prevent them from reoccurring in the future. We may recommend occasional physiotherapy check-ups, referrals to our massage therapy team or tuition on foam roller use to compliment any self-management exercise programs that we have created over your rehabilitation process. We can utilise the facilities at both our practices to use parts of your session reviewing exercises and technique in the gym should we also feel this is appropriate.
