Hip Pain

Hip Pain

Hip pain can significantly impact daily activities and quality of life. Injuries to the hip can affect your ability to carry out daily tasks and, in extreme cases, can limit your ability to walk long distances or participate in your favourite sporting activities. Hip pain can occur due to injury, underlying structural problems, or arthritis. Physiotherapy plays a key role in managing and alleviating hip pain.

Through targeted exercises, manual therapy, and rehabilitation techniques, at SPEAR we can help improve mobility, restore strength, and reduce discomfort.

Reason

Some of the common causes of hip pain are:

This is a common sporting injury. There are lots of different aspects to rehab to ensure the hamstrings are able function normally again.

Arthritis in the hips is common as the hips cope with lots of load during our lifetime. Arthitis can be painful and limit movement. Physiotherapy focuses on increasing mobility and building strength around the joint to reduce pain and increase function.

Hormonal changes can affect the tendons and we commonly see issues in the tendons around the hips in active people. Physiotherapy is targeted at rehabilitating the muscles surrounding the hip.

Sitting is the new smoking! Lots of jobs involve sitting which can cause tightness around the front of the hip. This can cause abnormal movement which can cause pinching at the front of the hip. Physiotherapy is targeted at redressing this balance.

This is characterised by pain in the buttock. Sitting and driving can become problematic which can put a big strain on daily life. Physiotherapy works to release tightness and increase strength in the area.
