Major trauma is the term used to describe one or more serious injuries that could result in permanent disability. For example, head/brain trauma, spinal cord injuries, nerve injuries, complex fractures and amputation. These injuries often require hospital admission and rehabilitation before discharge; however, this is not where the journey to recovery ends. Physiotherapy plays a key role both during and post admission to help the patient regain optimum function and independence.
At SPEAR, we specialise in comprehensive neuromusculoskeletal assessment and treatment.
Our treatment may involve joint and muscle mobilisations to achieve a new/more efficient alignment, strengthening work, enhancing sensory awareness of affected body parts with targeted stimulation techniques as well as other manual techniques and treatment adjuncts. To ensure rehabilitation carries on beyond our sessions we provide personalised goal focused rehabilitation plans and exercise programs to promote continued improvement at home.
We utilise the SPEAR team’s individual specialities and expertise to offer a holistic approach to achieve the best possible results. This tailored and personalised journey towards the patient’s own goals and recovery keeps us focused on what is important to them. We work to allow every patient the chance to thrive and are committed not just to getting them to that point, but beyond that to keep them there.
At SPEAR, our physiotherapy clinics are dedicated to providing personalised care for every injury. Our goal is to help you achieve optimal recovery and maintain a healthy, active lifestyle.
